Atwater sets up re-election account. Nothing to see here?
Only one statewide official has filed for re-election in 2014 and set up his campaign account: Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater. There’s still three years to go, of course, so Atwater isn’t likely to be the only official running for a second term. But because of the early timing and the fact that any money raised for the CFO account can be moved to another state race, the move is bound to add to rumors that Atwater says are unfounded about his looking at another job.
